I am not new to the internet, so I'm not a beginner. I have always considered myself to be at an intermediate level, just enough knowledge to get by. I have tried most things that's available, but was looking for something a bit more challenging....
I don't know how I came across it, but I began venturing into the Marketing world and all it has to offer. I had always assumed that Internet Marketing covered all aspects of Marketing itself - I thought that it had meant, anything on the internet. The more I delved into it, the more I began to learn.
・Email Marketing
・Internet Marketing
・Network Marketing and more
I received multiple emails from all of the websites that I had joined and even began registering with some of the websites inside of those emails. I decided to dive in deeper and invest some money into new campaigns and some
so-called secret societies. I didn't upgrade on many subscriptions or memberships, as I was still researching what they had to offer. This ended up costing more than I thought, I didn't think that I had spent so much.
After a couple of weeks, I came across a website which had an eye-catching website. They offered a system which couldn't fail, they had even placed a 100% guarantee of it working. If I joined, I was have access to
advanced technology for advertising that was not available anywhere else and it was free to join. Like every other campaigns, programs and systems, you'd be offered the option to upgrade your subscription or membership. A lot of these website don't give you much time to 'try out' their service, before upgrading. In fact, they offer the upgrade as soon as you confirm your email address. No matter what, the first page opened after registration, was the offer to upgrade. They make these offers cheap and affordable, most do not offer a cheaper price later. But, membership is always available, you can update or upgrade at anytime.
The system was easy to use and there was no downloading involved, everything could be done from the website. I decided to upgrade to the next level of membership, so I'd have more ways of advertising. After a week, I decided to pay for the final membership and it had a one time offer (OTO). Of course it sounded like the deal of a lifetime, I would have full membership and access to the system
'Forever'. I jumped at the chance of having received an offer like that and it wasn't as expensive as I thought. I opened the PayPal section and began reading through everything, it said "recurring fee created". I was at the part where I had to confirm payment or cancel it, I was still searching for the one time offer price when the page refreshed and I received an email a few minutes later. 'Your payment has been accepted'.
The PayPal page had confirmed the payment when it refreshed itself. By this time, I had already contacted support and had asked them about the recurring payment. They said they would fix it and send me the one time offer again. In the meantime, I had contacted Paypal and explained what the page had done. I thought it would be best to contact them, as the error is on one of their pages. When I had done this, it was in the very early hours of the morning and I had gone to bed late.
When I awoke, I decided to go to the website and use their technology for one of my projects. I typed my sign in information and waited, "incorrect information". This continued every time I entered my information, I decided to enter my details into 'forgot password?'. The page refreshed, 'this email does not exist on our system'. I couldn't find a way of contacting them, so I created a new account and contacted support.
The next day, I was having trouble with my internet connection but finally got it going again. I checked my email accounts and found a reply "you caused trouble for us with PayPal - because of stopping payment. If you had asked us for a refund instead or creating problems for us at Paypal, things would have been different". So, because of an error caused by the Paypal page, they cancelled my account and did not refund any of the money I had paid previously. As far as I know, only the WebMaster can make changes or fix problems on a website. So, how were they going to fix PayPal's page problems?
They can't!
An error caused by something or someone else, was somehow blamed on either parties. I tried to explain that I was not trying to cause problems for them, that the error had nothing to do with upgrading my membership but they didn't think so. I ended up having to send a request through Paypal, explaining that it was for membership and that I didn't receive it because of the error. I explained how the company blamed me for causing trouble and that they've taken my account off their system. It is currently still being resolved in the Resolution Centre. The error wasn't due to human error, the incompetency lies with the Webpage.
Anything can be misconstued, especially in anger - Wrongful accusations are made daily and it's the wrong people who ends up suffering from it. Some go overboard and make it worse than what it originally was. Many things can be avoided, unless they're taken the wrong way -
which is how a wrongful accusation is made. I never blamed the business for the error, yet they accused me of causing problems for letting PayPal know that one of their pages was faulty or full of bugs. The manner in which the company responded, made me think that maybe it was children who were operating the site.
I actually wanted to use their system and be a part of what they had to offer, I had even used some of my own money to advertise and promote the great system that I had found. I had used all of my Safelists and Downlines to promote the technology, it was definitely a great investment... But, I hadn't made any money or commissions from using their technology and I had been using it for almost a month, maybe a bit longer.
As an intermediate internet user and a beginner to the Marketing world, I have described what can happen and it's a warning for others to take 'heed'. Through my research and searching, I have found warnings and problems from experienced Marketers - they too, have had similar problems and have lost tens of thousands of dollars. One was being mentored by a well-known Marketing Guru, that ended up costing him a total of $30,000.
My situation is slightly different to those I've just mentioned, as it was about a page error. As each day passes, I begin to thank my lucky stars that I'm no longer associated with a company who conducts their business as so and that their were a few extras that finally showed their not as professional as some. I have written it on one of my other blogs, how unprofessional some businesses can be and what is consider as so. One of the main points of that post was:
Grammar and Spelling. Society needs to know that they are dealing with professionals and not with amateurs, or the inexperienced.
In Australia: if a person pays for a product or service, it must be given. If it is not, then it is a scam and the government takes legal action against those who are involved. This law, also includes subscriptions and memberships, as money is paid. PayPal knows the laws in every country, that is why they are the most used and the most trusted service to use. If a problem were to arise, Paypal would know how to act on it.
I've decided to stick with the original company that I had first joined. I was looking for a cheaper option, when it seemed that it was already in front of me. Their service also includes 24/7 monitored support. This means: I can log into the website and there is someone waiting on webcam, ready to answer any questions we may have. There's also a training boot camp, with step-by-step instructions. I shouldn't have branched off, I should have stayed with the one business - they are offering me everything:
・24/7 Support
・Commissions
・Advertising
・Mailing Options - Email, Messages, Newsletters and so on
・A Website
・Landing Pages
・eBooks with Labelling - giving the option to use my name as the Author.
Everything has been written and created for people like myself, for beginners and/or the seasoned veteran. When I use something from their website, my name is automatically attached to it. I am also able to offer eBooks as a bonus or a gift, I can even use them as my own content. This had all been created by one person '
Dr Jeffrey Lant', who then received help from the people who first joined his business venture - including the master of motivation, Boot Camp Instructor and World Profit Co-Founder '
George Kosch. There is so much that I can do on their site and with their business, I don't know why I even looked elsewhere...
Besides the costs. I haven't mentioned the name of the company that I've had problems with, but I will mention the last business which I have just spoken of. It is '
'World Profit'. Check it out if you are wanting:
